Ursula Mason has more than 25 years experience in Pharmaceutical Medicine across drug discovery, development and commercialisation, in a number of blue chip pharmaceutical companies, including GlaxoSmithKline, Serono and Pharmacia.
Ursula has worked in a broad variety of therapy areas, and has particular expertise in neurosciences and immuno-inflammation. In addition to developing small molecules, Ursula has extensive experience in leading global project teams for biopharmaceuticals: delivering the global registration programme for Serono/Celltech's growth hormone; co-leading two SB/IDEC anti-CD4 monoclonal antibody (mAb) clinical development programmes in rheumatoid arthritis; and, most recently, leading GSK/Genmab's anti-CD20 mAb multiple sclerosis development and assuming leadership of GSK's β amyloid mAb project team for Alzheimer's disease.
Building on this breadth of experience, Ursula is a member of the British Association of Research Quality Assurance (MRQA) and leads Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) for TranScrip. She is responsible for the provision of audits for TranScrip's clients including Good Clinical Practice and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) audits and preparation for Regulatory Agency inspections for Sponsors and sites; helping clients to develop appropriate QA approaches; and ensuring QC of regulatory documents. Ursula is also responsible for internal TranScrip quality through our Quality Management System, including ensuring adherence to SOPs.
In addition to her track record of successful project leadership and clinical research, Ursula has a broad business background, with experience of business development, business operations, Medical Affairs and business strategy. This included membership of GSK's Neurosciences Medicines Development Centre Leadership Team, as Global Business Operations Head, where she led the creation of the MDC's Business Plan. She has also successfully led a number of cross-R&D change management projects.
