Alex holds a BSc in Pharmacy from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh and is a member of both the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain and TOPRA.

Alex is a seasoned regulatory specialist who can tackle developmental, strategic, submission-related and commercial challenges in a number of therapeutic areas including dermatology, endocrinology, anti-infectives, CNS and renal medicine. Alex is adept at handling matters at all levels within organisations and with external bodies including a significant number of regulatory agencies.

With nearly 20 years of industry experience Alex has a sound grounding in clinical research, drug development, quality assurance and interdisciplinary and international working, with both mainstream and generics groups (Abbott Laboratories, Medeva, Luitpold and Pharmacia). Before becoming a Partner at TranScrip, Alex worked as a consultant at Cambridge Regulatory Services and later at Origin (now Constella). He is used to working in fast-paced, commercially-driven organisations and has expanded his regulatory experience and strategic skills to the point where he took responsibility for Pharmacia's key CNS and anti-infective products (both in development and commercialisation) as a European Regulatory Lead within Global Regulatory Affairs.

He also has broad understanding of drug formulation and manufacturing, has set up Scientific Services and Medical Services functions and has provided Regulatory Affairs, Medical Information and scientific training in the UK within organisations' Regulatory Affairs groups.

He is focussed on project-related activities, delivering commercially meaningful regulatory successes to organisations large and small.
